Job Summary
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing residential building projects, including design and build, within the civil construction industry. This role requires strong leadership, project management skills, and the ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of large-scale construction projects, including industrial, high-rise, low-rise buildings, and villas.
- Project Monitoring: Implement project baselines, monitor progress, and control projects concerning cost, resource deployment, timelines, and quality compliance.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with clients, architects, consultants, contractors, sub-contractors, and other stakeholders to determine technical specifications and ensure timely execution.
- Regulatory Compliance: Coordinate and obtain permissions for project work from various government regulatory authorities.
- Budget Control: Monitor and control project expenditures, verify invoices, and manage claims from suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Team Leadership: Lead a team of professionals, ensuring proper deployment and timely availability of manpower.
- Scheduling and Reporting: Manage project scheduling, monitor activities, and submit periodic progress reports to management.
- Risk Management: Manage project scope, mitigate risks, and document all changes to specifications, work scope, and drawings.
- Meeting Management: Conduct daily/weekly meetings with management, report progress, escalate issues, and organize project review meetings.
- Quality and Safety Compliance: Ensure all site personnel comply with Quality Management System (QMS) and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies. Participate in QMS/HSE audits and close out audit findings within agreed timelines.
Competencies and Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience, with at least 10 years in managing residential building projects (Design and Build) and 5 years in a similar position within the UAE.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in common contract conditions formats (FIDIC, JCT, Government, etc.)
- PMP certification or equivalent is preferred.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and computer skills (MS Project, Primavera).
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Safety Training: Knowledge and training in safety protocols and procedures.
