Roles
As a Head Cashier, your primary responsibility is to manage transactions for customers and handle payments for goods or services. Here’s what the role typically entails:
1. Customer Service: Greeting customers, answering their inquiries, and providing assistance with their purchases.
2. Processing Transactions: Using a cash register or point-of-sale (POS) system to scan items, enter prices, and calculate the total purchases accurately.
3. Accepting Payments: Handling various forms of payment, including cash, credit cards, debit cards, and mobile payments. Ensuring accurate money counting and providing change when necessary.
4. Bagging Items: Safely bagging purchased items for customers and ensuring they are handled with care.
5. Maintaining Cleanliness: Keeping the cashier area tidy and organized, including the cash register, conveyor belts, and surrounding areas.
